The arrival of the new Porsche Cayenne comes at the same time as the new Volkswagen Touareg which makes sense considering the Cayenne is based on the Touareg. Porsche fans should be delighted with the redesign although Porsche purists will still be unhappy until the Cayenne is dead altogether and Porsche returns to its roots. Don't count on it though as the Cayenne is Porsche's best-selling vehicle (shocked? me too) and with VW Group now in control, expect even more vehicles falling outside of Porsche's traditional circle.

Ford and Hyundai have both updated their midsize crossovers, the Edge and Santa Fe respectively, with one automaker going further than the other. Ford really went all out when redesigning the Edge with new interior features, new powertrains, and bold new face. They seem to really be staying true to their old slogan, "bold moves." Hyundai on the other hand, kept exterior changes very modest that most people probably won't even notice or care for. Their new Tucson compact crossover will probably get more attention until the Santa Fe gets a major overhaul, hopefully following their new design trends.

The Honda Odyssey Concept has just been revealed for the 2010 Chicago Auto Show and am I crazy, or does it actually look cool?. Although technically just a concept, it’s a strong indicator as to what the production version will look like when it hits sometime soon. Rather than let Toyota steal Odyssey’s dominance in the minivan segment with their all-new Toyota Sienna, Honda has designed a stunner with some interesting design cues such as the jagged beltline. Details are scarce but it’ll come with a i-VTEC V6 and get an estimated 19 city / 27 highway mpg.

“TORRANCE, Calif., February 8, 2010 – Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc, today announced it will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 133,000 2010 Model Year Prius vehicles and 14,500 Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS). No other Toyota, Lexus, or Scion vehicles are involved in this recall.”
